How We Create Content
We believe good health information should be accessible, accurate, and free from hype. Here is how our small team turns research into practical guides you can trust.
Research-First Approach
Every claim in our articles is backed by peer-reviewed research. We cite primary sources from journals like the Journal of Physical Therapy Science and Surgical Technology International, linking directly to PubMed and DOI references so you can verify our work. When the evidence is mixed or limited, we say so.
Written by People Who Get It
Our content is written by people who live with the same posture challenges you do. Shashank, our founder, built UpWise after years of desk-related chronic pain. After years of research and trial-and-error, he built UpWise to give others the personalized guidance he wished he had. Artem, our designer, balances marathon desk sessions in NYC with an active tennis lifestyle. We write from experience, not theory.
Citation Standards
We use named inline citations -- you will see phrases like "According to Kim et al. (2017)" in our articles. Each citation links to a numbered reference at the bottom of the article with full publication details and a direct link to the original paper. We prioritize systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials, but we also cite observational studies when higher-quality evidence is not available.
Keeping Content Current
Health research evolves. We periodically review our published articles and update them when new evidence emerges or recommendations change. Updated articles carry a modified date in their metadata so search engines know the content is current.
